"CLAYMATE YOUR IMAGINATION". This course sets out to teach participants the principles and practical issues of visual narration using animation techniques, involving the different stages of an idea production, from concept to final production.
The course will be delivered through a series of practical exercises and presentations covering issues that include idea development and insprational sources, thumbnail storyboards, working storyboards and presentation, character design with clay and the principles of animation.
The illustrator and animator MARIK is in charge of the workshop.
MARIK
She is a storyteller, illustrator and animator. She illustrates by fusing classical and digital media.
Her collaborations include international projects in the fields of advertising, music and children’s books, like Spot Thomson JWT, McCann-Erickson, Expo 2005 in Japan, Athens 2004 Olympic Games, Starbucks, Royal Academy of Music in London, BBC, European Commission, Egmont Publications among others.
MaRik holds a Master of Arts at Bristol School of Animation in England, a European Master in Arts and New Media Technologies at Haute Ecole Saint Louis in Belgium, a University Degree in Communication Media at the University of Nancy 2 in France.
She presents her concepts through art installations and book authoring.
Her art has been appeared in London (Royal Academy of Music), Bristol (Watershed, Uwe), Paris (Cemea), Istanbul (Theatre of Pera), Belgrade (Balkanima), Athens (Megaro Mousikis), Thessaloniki (Film festival), Patras (European Cultural Capital), Xanthi (“Art walk” featured artist), amomg others.
She is a visiting lecturer in digital painting and animation for art festivals, Universities of Fine Arts including the Academy of fine Art in Athens, Rome, the Hellenic cultural association of Alexandria in Egypt.
She lives and works as an independent professional in London and Athens.
