Results of children workshops

a. VANIMA: Studio for animated movies.
From Varazdin has been working continually since 1986. Annual film production of the association in the last 22 years has been in average 3–4 short films made by children in the time period of one school year. Along with annual production in 2005. During the summer holidays the workshops were introduced, which appeared to be interesting and well visited activity for children age range 8–14. During its existence, the association has received numerous awards on the state and international reviews. The wish of the managers is to increase the production and efficiency, raise the quality of activity, activate as far as possible children and young people and at the same time to open the door to all who are interested in cooperating in any way. Also the aspiration is to cooperate with other related associations and organizations and to participate at festivals in Croatia and abroad.

01. BEIJONG 2008 / Find the Intruder, 4’

„Beijong 2008. (Find the intruder)“ is a cartoon that includes ten short stories about ten various sports, all of them made in technics of classical animation and painted in the computer. Authors are children and that was their first time doing animation. Nine sports stories are related and one of them is a little bit different – that one is the intruder. The segments are unified under the title that refers on an Olympic games in Beijing 2008, but because of the uncommon happenings and a special view on the subject the title of a cartoon is Beijong and the Olympic sign is turned upside down.

„Fish me if you can“ is animated movie about a boy on a picnic, and what happened to him in the woods during the picnic. The squirrel disturbs his plans and how their fight will end and who will fish who, look at this movie made in the tehnics of classical animation and painted in the computer.



03. (UN)HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!, 5’ 19’’

„(Un)happy birthday to you!“ is work of a beginners in animation mostly by younger kids. All six of them gave their own vision of the birthday celebration but on a different way – „unhappy“ way. More exact, every cartoon speaks of a happening associated with not typical celebrations – whether there is gifts that explode, different pranks, revenges or cake throwing. This animated movie was made in the tehnics of classical animation and painted in the computer.



04. I LOVE ENTERNET, 3’ 01’’

„I love enternet“ is the story about child love. Approach to the subject is extremely actual and talks about love over the internet. A cartoon on a specific way and totally from the children’s point of view deals with the love disappointments and hopes of the characters. In the end everyone finds his match. But who are the characters in the movie – look at this cartoon made in the techniques of classical animation and painted in the computer.
